Reason #16: "F-IT" List: A Variation of a Bucket List

A few years ago I created a Bucket List which was a list of 100 things I want to do before I die. It included going on a safari in Africa, running a marathon, writing in a magazine, kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland, and 95 more to-do items. I have already crossed a few off the list (attended Fashion Week in NYC, CHECK, created a personal blog, CHECK), and I have a few more coming up in 2009 (run NYC Marathon, fingers crossed). However with times being slow and money not being as abundant, big ticket items such as a safari in Africa have been put in the back burner.

This week Comedian Michael Ian Black came out with a “F-it List,” which is basically the opposite of a Bucket List. It is a list of things you don’t care about doing before you die instead of things you want to do. A few of his items include 1) seeing the reunited Phish, 2) learning about birds, and 3) watching the sunrise. Below are a few of mine – which may very well interest other people – but in my mind, I just say f-it!

My"F"it List includes...

Doing the Master Cleanse
Watching an episode of Ugly Betty or Lost
Chowing Down on McDonalds
Wearing Pants (aside from sweatpants, snowpants, and pajama pants)
Bungee Jumping
Swimming in a Shark Tank
Bikram Yoga (though I admire those who do it)
Staying at work late even though my work is done
Making my own coffee to save money
Walking at a leisurely pace on the sidewalks of NYC
Resisting chocolate when it is offered
$15 cocktails
Learning how to do a cartwheel (if I still cant do it after all these years, f-it)
Playing Videogames
Attending Amusement Parks and/or Circuses
Seeing all 50 states (I can pass on seeing a few states)
Watching the ball drop in Times Square
Dancing Like No One is Watching

My girlfriend Emily wanted me to include legwarmers. So legwarmers, f-it!

Feel free to comment on your own!
